I prefer winter in San Francisco over summer and it has to do with expectations: I can’t stand wearing a peacoat during the summer when a 20 min drive down south will land you in 80 degrees weather. Winter is where the magic happens. When I’m expecting rain, wind and basically the worst of the worst, I am pleasantly surprised with a nice sunny day. So yes, in the end the temperatures are essentially the same both seasons, but like I said, it’s all about what you expect.
My younger brother suggested checking out Sutro Baths so my mom and I spent the day exploring and hiking the area. We were blessed with a gorgeous day and extremely breath-taking views.
I had never gotten the chance to hoop on the beach and I conveniently had my hoop in the trunk of my car, so I knew I had to seize the opportunity.
Next we checked out the SF MOMA. My mom is the artist in the family so I stuck by her side while she explained and interpreted the some of the art for me.
We strolled up to the fifth floor to relax and grab some Blue Bottle Coffee and found ourselves in the middle of a rooftop party hosted by Juxtapoz Magazine! Something about chilling on the rooftop of a museum, a live DJ and hipsters with cocktails reminded me of my time abroad (sighh…). It was very entertaining but we left before things got too crazy.
