So I’m writing there near the end of my 3rd day and thought I’d share my Day 2 and 3 experiences:
Day 2 cleanse: cucumbers, apples, spinach, parsley, celery, and ginger root
The Day 2 Green drink tasted the best in my opinion. The ginger added a pleasant flavor and the other vegetables/fruits were pretty mild. For dinner I had some healthy indian-styled chicken with broccoli and zucchini.
The original recipe called for kale but when I opened my bag of pre-washed kale it smelled really..fishy and I don’t think that’s normal? So I decided not to use it and doubled the lettuce amount instead.
Now the cleanse had been going great until this juice..it probably my least favorite and I was honestly pretty tired of not eating real food. I’m a person who consistently snacks so I started missing my greek yogurt with berries or peanut butter with whole wheat toast! But I pulled through because it was the last day and I was not going to give up!
In addition to a lot of water throughout the day, I drank some green and herbal tea (the hibiscus C blend from Peets isn’t bad) and would snack on some almonds here and there. This morning I also had a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice with some sparkling water.
Well I’m getting ready for bed now and excited to have my oatmeal with a banana in the morning. This cleanse was a great challenge and I do feel lighter and less bloated overall. Maybe I’ll do some more reflecting on this tomorrow!
