Exactly one year ago, I started blogging for no apparent reason.
Yup, I had exactly no idea where I wanted to go with it. Sometimes I thought “Ooh let’s be techy and cool and know the ins and outs of social media.” Other times I was like, let me start a lifestyle blog and share all the exciting things I’m doing and places I’m going (I mean seriously, who am I kidding). And then I became super interested in health and fitness so I started blogging about that a lot more.
Point is my blog took some turns along the way as my life changed and evolved. I did not actually think I would be still keeping up with it a year later.
Regardless of what it is now or where it is going,, i have learned a lot along to way and I would like to share some things I discovered:
- Blogging is freaking time consuming. Props to those serious bloggers who update a few times a week. I now see how it can be a full-time job!
- Pictures speak louder than words. Well at least they attract more views than text-heavy posts (I’m digging myself into a whole with this one..quick..I’ll throw in some pictures of puppies!). Not trying to sound cynical, but people have short attention spans.
….oh look puppy!
- Blogging has taught me to stop and take a moment. It really serves as that extra push to take more pictures, and enjoy each experience. Blogging has made me just a little bit more patient.
- And last but not least, blogging can be really fulfilling. I absolutely love those instances when people say they really enjoyed a particular post, or when I am encouraged to continue what I’m doing. It’s nice to know that some people actually like to listen to my rants.
So there it is..it’s been a year and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon!
