A few months ago, I discovered Pure Barre and I was hooked! Unfortunately when I came back to school after winter break, the closest Pure Barre studio was about 45 minutes away.
But wait there’s good news! I found another studio that teaches the barre technique that was walking distance from my apartment–score!
The Dailey Method is a barre studio that teaches a low-impact technique that strengthens and lengthens your body. With isometric movements that target different “problem” areas, you are sure to get a full body workout within the hour!
So how does it compare to Pure Barre? Well I have to say the facilities are more accommodating -nice locker rooms, childcare for the mommies, free water (haha yes that’s definitely a plus). The Dailey Method also take a more personal approach as its instructors take time to know each student and actively encourage and correct their form. Pure Barre definitely provides a more intense workout (and more intense music!) with shorter breaks so I know my body is really working hard.
In the end I think both techniques have their advantages: The Dailey Method focuses a bit more on flexibility and toning while at Pure Barre is more high intensity where you really feel the “burn”. So basically it depends in the end what you want but either way I don’t think you can go wrong!
